In 2007, Blanton turned his focus to sports broadcasting. He began announcing beach volleyball games for a small cable station and then received the opportunity to cover high school football at Fox Sports West. Since that start he has been covering many sports including NBA, Beach Volleyball, NCAA College (Volleyball, Basketball and Football) and MLB while working for ESPN, ABC, NBC, Fox Sports and Universal Sports Network.

Blanton is currently a broadcast analyst for NCAA women’s college indoor and beach volleyball for ESPN as well as Pro Beach Volleyball worldwide (AVP and FIVB Major Series). Dain accomplished another goal in 2016 when he earned the opportunity to be a Beach Volleyball broadcast analyst for NBC at the Rio Olympic Games, covering the sport that has given him so much.

Dain Blanton

An American beach volleyball player who won the Gold Medal for the US in Beach Volleyball in the 2000 Olympic Games, Dain is the first African American to win a Major Pro Beach Volleyball event (1997 AVP Hermosa Beach Grand Slam). Mr. Blanton also served as the first two-time U.S. male Beach Volleyball Olympian (2000/2004).

Currently an analyst for ESPN’s coverage of women’s NCAA volleyball as well as the analyst for Professional Beach Volleyball worldwide (AVP/FIVB), Dain worked in the NBA as the Sideline Reporter for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers for five seasons.  His career in Sports Broadcasting has involved working with many major networks including ESPN, NBC, ABC, FOX Sports and The Olympic Channel. He has a passion for motivating, mentoring and professional development. Mr. Blanton has influenced thousands of students, teachers and business professional globally and looks forward to working with your institution.
